Thoughtful Thursdays: Who Are You?

I really wanna know! Who are you? Who? Who? Who? Who? (don't you just love that song!)

But seriously, folks... I really would like to know who the people are coming to visit my blog. Are you an artist? A crafter? What do you make? Or do you enjoy other people's artwork and creations? What's your favorite? Journaling... collage... assemblage... dolls... jewelry... something else?

What do you do for a living? Are you an artist too? Or do you have a regular J-O-B? Are you a stay-at-home parent? Or maybe you have some very unique story!

What do you like to do in your spare time? Do you create stuff too? Like what? Do you have any hobbies? Tell me more!

And last but not least... what brings you here? What is it about my Yesterday's Trash blog that you enjoy? Because I'd love to give you more of it!

As always... thank YOU for visiting!! xox

  1. Hi Michelle!

I'm a huge fan!!! Your work is fun and what you are doing inspires me, not only in my art, but in my life. I love the posts where you show your process. So much work and so many layers go into creating art. I am always interested in the process.

I am a wife and mother, I work as an executive producer for a recording company that produces voice recordings for IVR... and I have gone back to school to finish my BFA in film. In my spare time I make art and hope that I inspire a creative vibe in our house.

    XOXO

  2. Tami!

Thanks so much for sharing. That's so cool that you work in a creative industry and are adding on to that with your new degree. And I'm pretty positive that you inspire a creative vibe in your house... and beyond!!

  3. hi Michelle, I am a kindred spirit, in that I am passionate about much of the things that you too enjoy. I adore creating mixed media items. I'm a middle school English teacher, and am a competitive runner. Check me out at;

  5. I love your unique view on the items that you find. It always pushes me to view items outside the box.
I have a JOB, and I try to find time to create. I love to paint, draw, collage, mixed media, sew. Unfortunatly, I think that I am, well cannot focus on one thing for to long. I get easily distracted.
Anyway, thank you for your blog, I look forward to your work.

  6. Five years ago I retired after teaching 36 years and I miss it every day. I've been a crafter all of my life. I spent a lot of time with my grandmother while growing up and she was a quilter, as was her mother and my mother. My mother was also a seamstress and milliner. My first craft project was a crib made from an oatmeal box in VBS. I was four years old and hooked. I learned to sew, crochet, macramé, needlepoint, cross stitch and embroidery. Now I’m into paper crafts, mainly making cards and ATCs. I have one married son and no grandchildren.

  7. Stacy! Thanks so much for the compliment! And I agree with you that I cannot stick to one thing for very long. In thinking about why, you have inspired one of my upcoming posts! Thanks for making me think :o)

  8. Consuella, sounds like a great childhood growing up around other creative family members. Perhaps you should teach some of your hobbies to others now to satisfy that part of you that loves to teach! Thanks for sharing!

  9. Hey Michelle...
I've been an artist all my life. Went to school for it but always had a non art job until I decided to stay home to raise my two boys. Working toward making art my living but it is a very slow process for me. I draw, paint, sculpt and would love to start doing some assemblages. Self doubt is my biggest obstacle. I admire your work and the whimsical spirit your pieces exude. Love your Tillys. I was afraid of him when I was a kid...but I miss him now that he is gone =( You brought him back to life...yay
I think it's cool that you are giving your dream a real go of it. So brave and so admirable. Wish it wasn't so damn tough. Look to you as a mentor, you've helped me so much already. I figure that we artsy jersey girls need to support eachother so...I'm rooting for you!
