We Are All Alone...

Here we are on the last day of August... a month that has been extremely challenging for me, to say the least. The Universe has chosen to test me, day after day after day. Like waves pounding on the shore at high tide. Things I've counted on... fallen through. Projects researched... only to find dead ends. Bonds made... have been broken. Fires lit... were snuffed out. Hopes built up... and then dashed. I felt so alone. Who will save me? How can I take one more thing? And then this little voice spoke up...

"I'll save you!"

It was me. The knowing part of me. The part that has all the answers once I get quiet and listen. The part that has lost... and then found. The part that has fallen... and dusted myself off. The part that has thrown in the towel... only to get back in the game. I knew that everything I need—to face this battle called Life—is already in me. And that really, I am on my own. That it's all up to me. No one else is responsible for my life. Just me. And I am alone. But that's not a terrible thing because, we are all alone... together!

Wish You Were Here...

You know, I have to say that when I am not in my home town of Ocean Grove... I am right next door in Asbury Park. There's just always so much to do! If you want a fancy dinner, some casual fare, an art gallery exhibition, cool clothes, mod accessories, a great band, unique gifts, antiques and collectibles, yummy candy, a first-rate theater production, cool architecture, special events, retro arcades, miniature golf, dance classes, yoga or fabulous fireworks displays... you'll find it in Asbury. My favorite spots to hang are on Cookman Avenue and down at the boardwalk. There you'll find everything I mentioned and so much more. Won't you come visit?

Pick A Pace... Any Pace...

I would love to say that... since I left my job and went out on my own... life has been a little like this...
However... it's actually been a little more like this!
My head is spinning and twirling and swirling with ideas and things to do and places to go and people to visit... and... and... and! So, I took a step back and took a look from afar. And what did I see?

Well, many of my favorite success coaches have always said to work on one thing at a time. And I thought I was... You know, I'll just look up some stuff, while I'm waiting on some answers over here... and then I'll just call these people and get this thing started while I have a bit of a lull... and then, well, I could start investigating these things, I've needed to update that such-and-such for months now!

And guess what? I wasn't focusing on one thing at a time. I was focusing on everything all at once. Like I was drowning in the ocean and just grasping for everything I thought might "save me". But I'm glad I was able to stand aside and see what was going on. I'm going to take a better approach to this new creative business thing and slow down the pace...

One. Thing. At. A. Time.

Come Visit Me In Asbury...

This Saturday, August 7th, from 6pm until at least 8pm! I'm the featured artist for the month at Greetings From Geralyn. I'll have my art displayed... and for sale throughout the month... and I'll be there in person Saturday to chat. The shop is located on the 2nd floor of the Shoppes At The Arcade on Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park!

It's also First Night in Asbury, so plan on grabbing a yummy bite to eat at one of the many new and established restaurants in the area. The stores and galleries will be open late for your shopping and perusing pleasure! Hope to see you there!
