Thoughtful Thursdays: Paint Like A Child!

About a year ago, I discovered this exuberant young painting prodigy via a video on YouTube about her first solo exhibition in New York City. I immediately fell in love with the thoughtful innocence of Aelita Andre. Typically adorned in a tutu as her painting attire, she has not yet been stifled by the words, comments or discouraging remarks that many of us have experienced in our lives that have kept us from creating freely. I hope to one day be this innocent and free again. Now where did I put that tutu?

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
~Picasso

Coincidence? As I was looking up this video to post on my blog, I found that Aelita Andre is having another solo show at the Agora Gallery in NYC which started on June 6th and runs through July 3rd. I may just have to check that out!

New Handmade... The Cotton Candy Pillow!

I am so very excited to announce the newest addition to my collection of handmade goods... a super-sweet, adorable Cotton Candy Pillow!
You know how you get those brainstorm ideas in your head and you can practically see yourself making it, but of course it always takes so much longer when you actually go to do it? This worked... that didn't... let me tweak this... uh-oh, how am I going to accomplish that?

Well in the process, I came up with a fabulous idea... why make just a cotton candy pillow? Why not make it something special. And the finished product was born... Sweet Tooth [Fairy] - The Cotton Candy Pillow!

With a secret pocket on the back, and a pretty ribbon to hang it by... it became perfect for the tooth fairy, money gifts, even hiding that engagement ring for your carnival-loving sweetheart!

And you know what this means tooth fairy parents? No more rooting around under your kids' pillows while they're asleep trying to find that tooth!
