Up on the lookout... what's there to see? Beyond the reeds... why it's a little birdie! I must say that once I embossed this Vintaj 3" x 3" metal blank using a Cuttlebug design, I knew exactly what I wanted it to be... a Field Notes journal! Of course adding a some flair with Vintaj embellishments and blanks.
I hand ripped paper from an old journal I had to create the pages for this book... using the Crop-a-Dile for both the paper and the thick metal cover! Gotta love that! 2-for-1.
The back cover I embossed using one of Tim Holtz' new Sizzix Embossing Folders. Even the reverse pattern on the inside back looks awesome! I lightly sanded this Distress-inked bird illustration to bring out the pattern and bring it all together. Fun!
super sweet!! love the drawings!!
ReplyDeleteI love nature journals, and this one is awesome! Great job.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love your work; very inspiring. Especially the booklace. I just love it. I visited your blog via Tim Holtz's. I'll be back to see what else you're up to. Regards, Cynthia
ReplyDeleteGREAT job Michelle...so happy to C U & Patti today too!
ReplyDeleteGreat Idea! What did you use for the rings to bind the book?
ReplyDeleteHi "anonymous"!
ReplyDeleteI used extra large jump rings to bind the book. You can get them from Vintaj or Tim Holtz Ideology.
Love it! What did you use to adhere the metal blanks to the cover? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jane!
ReplyDeletethe metal blank is mostly held on by the eyelet I used for the binding. But I did put a tiny dab of Glossy Accents underneath, just for good measure!
